In May, a strong thunderstorm with high winds moved across the Dallas Cowboys’ training facility. Microburst winds of nearly 70 mph caused the facility to collapse while team practice was in progress. SMA member, Accuweather, reported the incident for members.
SMA member with Qualcomm Stadium shared his experiences operating the stadium as a refuge for victims of the 2008 wildfires in San Diego.
The SMA Seminar included live video and reports from the incident commander who led the rescue and recovery operations at Ground Zero on 9/11, and lessons learned that effected members’ emergency preparedness plans.
SMA member Ellerbe Becket spoke to Seminar attendees on the challenges faced in rebuilding the Superdome after one of the most horrifying disasters in our lifetime. The stadium’s renewal became a symbol of the rebirth of New Orleans.
